Aluminum is here now in many of our vehicles and there’s more on the way. To adhere to the world’s more stringent fuel-efficiency standards, aluminum is an ideal lightweight yet sturdy metal and that’s why more and more car manufacturers are producing and designing vehicles containing aluminum.
At D & K Collision Repair, we’re proud to day that we’re able to repair vehicles with aluminum, something less than 5% of all the body shops in the country can claim.
In the past, only foreign-made, high-end luxury vehicles were using aluminum, but now the domestic auto manufacturers are also joining the party. For example, the new Ford F-150 will include 600 pounds of aluminum, replacing approximately 1,000 pounds of steel and pretty soon, experts are claiming that all of the other American carmakers will join the migration to aluminum.
At D & K Collision Repair, we’re skilled and fully trained to work on aluminum vehicles, so ask us if your car contains aluminum and we’ll gladly describe the repair process
